Just like chess, the more moves you can plan ahead, the better your chances of success.

Things will not turn out exactly as planned but setting goals and devising a way to achieve them means you are on the path to get there.
2. Get to know your numbers
Ensure you always have the necessary data so you can measure, compare, analyse and predict. If you don't have the data and don't know your numbers how can you understand the way your business functions? How can you know what to improve or make future predictions when you have nothing to look back and reflect upon?
What are the most important things you have to measure in your business? It is essential to know this. Measure what matters. What is the most important data for your business; sales, revenue, productions units, number of calls, sales, advertising, budget, employees? Know what are the most important numbers for you to measure and from there you can make accurate predictions and decisions.
3. Learn new skillsets
Learning is life so acquiring new skills will always be beneficial. Improving yourself will always put you in a better space. Are there things you have always wanted to learn to do? If so go for it and don't delay. Adding more strings to your bow can only be a good thing and should be an ongoing process throughout our lives.
With particular reference to you business be aware of the new skillsets that are required for these new times. Who do you need to be to get where you want to be? Improve yourself accordingly. Whether it be sales, negotiations, relationship skills etc, just list the skillsets and immerse yourself to get better at those different skills.

The pandemic showed us that we need to be better prepared for the unknown. For any subsequent next pandemic and shutdown have plans in place how to deal with your business, employees, finances, children off school etc. Savings
and back up plans are a necessity and contingency plans will help cope with most eventualities.
These emergency action plans should be applicable to a variety of worst case scenarios. It's not about thinking negatively rather it's attempting to be better prepared for unexpected and undesirable events.
5. Eliminate negative and toxic people out of your life.
Who are the people that frequently drain your energy, time and resources? We all have these people in our lives and they are no good for us. Yes it is harsh but it has to be acknowledged.
Don’t get the counsel of small thinkers, negative or unfulfilled people. Surround yourself with those whore are honest, respectful and willing to be truthful and challenge you. Cut the wrong people out of your life.
6. Who do you need to recruit
Everything is about recruiting. Think about the circle you need to be around? Whether a wife, girlfriend, partner, secretary, employees, accountant, lawyer it's all about recruiting and knowing who you have to recruit.
You don't get choose your family but when it comes to friends, employees, associates and partners you can choose and they become like your family. These are very important decisions that will impact most areas of your life.
7. Give the next 6 months a theme.
Pick a theme for the upcoming period, say 6 months or a year. For example you can vision it as the year of come back, the year of being a leader, year of getting to the top, year of the re growth, the year of next level networking. Giving a general theme and meaning to your overall life process will help you navigate your way successfully through the calm and the storms.

Rather than leaving it to chance you can strategize your next moves to get your business, finances, family life, spiritual outlook and health in order. It's highly advisable to have your next few moves planned in every area of your life because the world tends to give those who know what they want, the things they want.
